Description

Tuesday Afternoon

In its 220-year history, only five women Justices have served on the Supreme Court: Sandra Day O’Connor (1981-2005), Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1993-2020), Sonia Sotomayor (2009-present), Elena Kagan (2010-present), and Amy Coney Barrett (Oct 2020-present). In Part 2, you will learn more about the Supreme Court and the personal journeys of two of these trailblazing women:  Sonia Sotomayor, the first Latina Supreme Court Justice and Elena Kagan, the first woman Solicitor General and Supreme Court Justice. Your instructor became interested in researching notable women in history and has taught several courses profiling the stories of women who made significant contributions to history.
