Description

The United States has the oldest constitution in the world. With the exception of the Civil War, our political order has persisted for over 225 years. What has made America so exceptional in its longevity? Dr. Rufus Fears argues that our Founders uniquely relied on historical thought, using the knowledge of the past to make decisions in the present and plan for the future. Their knowledge of the lessons of history equipped them to create an enduring political order. Prof. Fears, with his inimitable style and his true wisdom, explores the American experience of freedom from the Revolutionary War to the present day. He tells the stories of struggle, sacrifice, and heroism that created the unique model of American freedom. Part 2 will be in the spring 2024.
