Description

Your instructor is a well-known local on-air meteorologist, and has taught in a variety of educational settings. He brings his life-long fascination with weather to this course illustrating the impact of weather forecasts and forecasters on the course of human history. In particular you will learn details of how weather forecasts changed the course of history during the German invasion of Russia and the Allied D-Day invasion of France. In addition, he will discuss the evolution of modern weather forecasting from the early 20th century to the dawn of the computer age, and demonstrate the inter-connectedness of the global community of meteorologists, highlighting some interesting connections to Wisconsin.
