As more of us are staying in our homes longer – and even downsizing to smaller accommodations, it is a good idea to review your current surroundings to identify and correct any safety concerns that are so easy to overlook. Your instructor, Brian Charlesworth, Marshal for the Waukesha Fire Department, brings over 22 years’ experience in fire prevention activities to class. He will give an overview of the services fire departments provide and talk to us about items and areas we should pay attention to around our living quarters especially as we get older. He will also explain the wide variety of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors available, and the opportunity to train outside on the proper use of a fire extinguisher.
