Most of us grew up rarely finding ourselves in situations where the topic of conversation was race and/or racism. Today the topic comes up in many different settings. This course’s goal is to help us build greater effectiveness, comfort, and confidence as we enter into conversations about race with family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Fruitful conversations about race are valuable experiences that can show their value in many situations and illuminate ways to solve human problems. Given how widespread such conversations are, the ability to speak across differences is a necessary and valuable skill.
