Description

This course teaches us the various sacred texts of the world—starting with the ancient through to the new faiths. Throughout history, religious expression has been an essential human activity, deeply influencing the development of cultures and civilizations. With few exceptions, humanity’s religions are grounded in their sacred texts – foundational writings that crystallize the principles and vision of the faiths, forming the basis of belief and action. This series covers the seven (7) major religious traditions, as well as nine (9) lesser-known or smaller faiths. We begin our journey with Hinduism, Sikhs and Judaism. Parts 2 and 3 will be taught next semester.
